FAQ

Why should I use you instead of Law Enforcement?

The main reason is flexibility and communication, if you need to contact me directly you absolutely can, this is much harder with Law Enforcement. I can also go from county to county with little to no restriction. Another big problem is when documents get served, for the most part Law Enforcement only serve documents 9-5 Monday through Friday, I serve papers anytime they can legally be served, even if that means serving someone in the middle of the night if needed.

What Georgia Counties are you Appointed in?

I am appointed in Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, and Walker Counties in Georgia.

How about Tennessee?

Tennessee currently has no certification or appointment requirements for Process Servers. The only exception is Shelby County, I cannot serve documents filed in Shelby County within the county or in Georgia counties I am not appointed in.

How about Alabama?

Alabama law states that any person not less than eighteen (18) years of age, who is not a party and who has been designated by order of the court can serve process. I currently have no standing orders in Alabama. If you need a case that is filed in Alabama and to be served in 1: any county in Alabama or 2: any Georgia county to which I’m not appointed will require an order from the court in which the case is filed. Additional fees will be incurred if I need to get this order myself.

What if I need something served in a county you are appointed in but it was filed in a county you are not appointed in?

I can still serve these documents for you. As long as I’m appointed in either the county the case is filed or I’m appointed in the county that service will take place I can serve your documents.

How far are you willing to travel?

I can travel as far as is needed, areas outside my standard service area will incur additional charges based on mileage and/ or drive time. Please see my services page to learn more about standard service areas and when mileage fees will be charged.

What if someone avoids service?

So far no one has ever successfully avoided service, (although many have tried) I will continue to attempt service until either service is perfected or until you ask me to stop. While attempting service I will also gather evidence to prove service was avoided. I ask that when the case goes to court you call me as a witness and request that the defendant pay for any additional costs incurred due to their avoidance of service. If the judge does not feel that sufficient evidence was produced to prove avoidance of service then there will be no additional costs to you. Any cost of skip traces or other fees such as parking or toll fees will still be due. If the case for some reason does not go to court, i.e., reconciliation, agreed outside of court, etc…. all fees will be due.

Do you provide private investigative services?

I am not a licensed private investigator. The only investigative services I can offer are those needed to find and serve an individual. This does not mean you can’t use this information for other purposes. Photographs of estates that might be used as evidence do not fall under a private investigator’s purview.

Can I hire you if I don’t have an attorney?

I do not accept clients who aren’t represented by an attorney. This is for both your protection and mine.
